Camryn Olson Named G-MAC Pitcher of the Week

In her first postseason collegiate experience, freshman pitcher Camryn Olson excelled when the pressure was at its peak. Monday afternoon, she was rewarded for her clutch play.

Olson was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week. The award was announced and chosen by the conference office.

She made three relief appearances, each of the team's last three games of its conference tournament run last week. She pitched six total innings in those three games, racking up a 2-0 record with one save and a 0.00 earned run average. She struck out four batters and yielded just three hits in those six innings.

She was the winning pitcher in the 4-3 win over Kentucky Wesleyan and the 7-6 win over Tiffin, and earned the save in the championship-clinching 5-2 victory over Cedarville. She had a 0.83 WHIP during the G-MAC Tournament. Olson enters the NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament with a 4-4 record and 32 strikeouts in 58.2 innings pitched. Her strikeout-per-7-innings ratio of 4.67 in the conference tournament was outstanding.

Olson is a ntive of Mason, Ohio and attended Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy High School.
