Victoria Addis Named G-MAC Player of the Week

At a time when Hillsdale's softball team needed a big hit the most, junior Victoria Addis delivered. More than once.

Addis supplied much of the necessary power to the Chargers' run to a second straight G-MAC Tournament championship, and Monday afternoon, was named the conference's Softball Player of the Week. The award was announced and chosen by the conference office.

In Hillsdale's four postseason wins last week, Addis hit .500, going 7-for-14 with two home runs, five runs batted in and four runs scored. She hit the game-winning home run in the Chargers' 4-3 second-round win over Kentucky Wesleyan. Her solo blast came in the top of the 10th inning and proved to be the difference in Hillsdale's dramatic win that kept it in the winner's bracket.

She also hit a home run as part of the team's 7-6 winner's bracket semifinal win over Tiffin. She was the only player in the eight-team tournament to hit mutiple home runs. She is the 35th different Hillsdale College athlete to be named a G-MAC player of the week during the 2018-19 school year. She also stars on the Charger swimming team and is a native of Massilon, Ohio.
