  • TThe 2019 season opens in warm and sunny Florida for the Charger softball team this weekend...Hillsdale will play five games in 47 hours, starting Friday morning in Clearwater
  • The NFCA Leadoff Classic is set up as an elite early-season tournament...Four of Hillsdale's five opponents were NCAA regional qualifiers last year
  • The schedule is challenging...Here are the 2018 won-loss records for Hillsdale's five opponents: Lenoir-Rhyne (45-10); West Chester (45-15); Indianapolis (39-20); North Georgia (62-4); Eckerd (20-27)
  • The Chargers begin their season earlier than any other G-MAC program, except for Ursuline, who played four games earlier this month
  • Hillsdale brings a ton of experience to the diamond in 2019, with all eight position player starters returning...Junior Dana Weidinger will start the season in the pitchers' circle for the Chargers...When Weidinger was a freshman in 2017, she set the school's single-season innings pitched record with 185
