Kish, Hunt Earn NFCA All-Region Honors

2018 NFCA All-Region Release

The impactful season had by the Hillsdale College softball team has resulted in some high-level honors for two of its finest players.

Junior outfielder Katie Kish was named First-Team All-Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, marking the second consecutive year a Charger outfielder has been named All-Region. Freshman pitcher Erin Hunt earned Second-Team All-Region honors.

Kish is now eligible for All-American honors through the NFCA program. She was one of three outfielders in the Midwest Region to make the first team.

Entering the NCAA Tournament, Kish is ranked sixth in the NCAA in batting average, sporting an impressive .496 mark through 38 games this season. A lefthanded hitter with speed and power, Kish has had her best season. She has 62 total hits and batted .500 during the G-MAC Tournament, won by the Chargers last week. One year ago, Bekah Kastning was also a First-Team All-Region selection from Hillsdale.

Hunt is 19-6 on the season with a 1.61 earned run average. She's won eight straight decisions and rolled through the conference tournament, going 4-0 with a 0.26 earned run average and 34 strikeouts versus just three walks.
