Arrows Quiet Charger Bats in Softball Sweep

The Charger softball offense got shut down in a doubleheader sweep at the hands of Ursuline College Friday afternoon in Ohio.

The Arrows took both ends of the twin bill 4-1 and 1-0, dropping the Chargers to 16-14 overall and 10-8 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

In Friday's opener, Hillsdale took a 1-0 lead when Jessica Taylor laid down a perfect bunt that scored Sarah Wojcik in the fourth inning. But Ursuline came back to score twice in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead for good.

Junior Katie Kish was 2-for-3 while Taylor, Madison Stoner and Natalie Walters also had hits in the opener.

In game two, Ursuline held Hillsdale without a hit through the game's first six innings. Walters, Madison Rathbun and Amanda Marra were the only Chargers to reach base in the nightcap.
