The final weekend in sunny Florida was a sunny one for the Hillsdale College softball team.

In four games played Friday and Saturday, Hillsdale finished the trip on a good note, winning three out of four to raise its overall record to 6-8 as it returns to Michigan.

In Saturday's Florida finale, the Chargers came back to defeat the Golden Bears of Concorida-St. Paul with a dramatic seventh-inning rally.

Hillsdale trailed 4-1 entering the bottom of the sixth inning. The team knotted the game up with a three-run frame, highlighted by a bases-loaded RBI single by freshman Brittany Mahan. The Chargers also scored runs off an error and a wild pitch in the inning.

In the seventh inning, sophomore Bekah Kastning scored the game-winning run after an error by the Golden Bears off a batted ball by freshman Jessica Taylor. Kastning opened the inning with a single, and was advanced around the bases by a sacrifice bunt by freshman Danielle Stiene. Kastning later stole third base, setting up the game-winning score.
