Thursday's lone game was scoreless through 4 1/2 innings, but the Chargers came out on the short end of another one-run loss.

Northern State hit two home runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, and withstodd a late rally by Hillsdale for a 3-2 win in Clermont, Florida. Hillsdale is now 3-7 on the season.

Sarah Grunert belted her second home run in as many days, a two-run shot that also scored Julia Kosco, to cut the deficit to one in the seventh inning. But that would be all the scoring the Chargers would do in this game.

Grunert was 3-for-4 in the game while Bekah Kastning delivered a pair of hits for the Chargers.

Sophomore Bekah Kastning crushed a walk-off triple to right field with no outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to cap a 6-5 comeback win for the Chargers over Dominican (NY) in game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader in Clermont, Florida.

Hillsdale trailed 5-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning when senior Melissa Felkey's single scored senior Kate Ardrey to trim Hillsdale's deficit to 5-3. Felkey finished with two runs batted in for the Chargers in the win.

All four batters who came up in the seventh inning reached base for Hillsdale, starting with sophomore Jessie Fox, who legged out an infield single to open the inning. She would score her second run of the game when junior Sarah Grunert lined a double to the center field fence, making the score 5-4. Junior catcher Daniele Garceau's sacrifice bunt resulted in a throwing error by Dominican, allowing Grunert to score from second base. That set up Kastning's heroics in the opener.

Junior Sarah Klopfer got the win on the mound in relief, pitching 2 1/3 perfect innings out of the bullpen. Kate Ardrey added a double, a walk, a stolen base and two runs scored for the Chargers.

In the second game against Dominican, the Lady Chargers took a 4-0 first-inning lead over Hillsdale and never looked back.

Grunert hit s two-run home run in the seventh inning, and was 2-for-4 for Hillsdale. Sophomore Cassie Asselta added a hit, a run batted in and a run scored, while freshmen Jessica Taylor and Haley Lawrence each had a hit and a run scored.
