Game 2 box score - Ferris State 4, Hillsdale 2

April 27, 2013 - Ferris State pitching shut down the bats of the Hillsdale College softball team in a Saturday GLIAC twinbill.

The Chargers were held to a season-low one hit in a 3-0 loss in the first game in Big Rapids. In the second game, Hillsdale produced five hits and led briefly, only to lose to the Bulldogs 4-2. Hillsdale is now 11-20 overall and 10-14 in the GLIAC, and plays at home at noon Sunday against Saginaw Valley State University.

Freshman Sarah Grunert had hits in both games for the Chargers and was the only one to record a hit in the opener. Grunert hit her eighth double of the season in the second game, and has at least one hit in 15 of her last 16 games, dating back to April 4. In that span, her batting average has soared from .297 to .412.

Grunert and junior Kristi Gordon each had runs batted in for Hillsdale in the second game. Grunert and senior Miriam McKay scored the team's two runs in the 4-2 loss.
