March 9, 2013 - Over the first two days of the 2013 season, the Hillsdale College softball team lost each of its first four games in Clermont, Florida.

Thursday, the Chargers lost a 4-0 decision to Lewis, followed by a five-inning 17-1 defeat at the hands of Southern New Hampshire.

Friday, the team lost to Concordia (NY) 7-1, and West Virginia Wesleyan 7-6.

Freshman outfielder Ainsley Ellison notched hits in all four games, and hit .636 over the season's first two days. She had 3 RBI against West Virginia Wesleyan Friday morning.

In that same game, junior Kristi Gordon and sophomore Melissa Felkey each notched two hits, while sophomore Courtney Day scored three times. The Chargers fell behind 5-0 in the top of the first inning, but outscored West Virginia Wesleyan 6-2 through the game's last six innings.

Ellison picked up two hits and scored a run against Concordiam while senior Taylor Schulty, freshman Danielle Garceau and senior Miriam McKay each had a hit. This was a 2-1 ballgame entering the bottom of the sixth when Concordia broke it open.
