Results

Senior Joey Humes finished his cross country career as a Charger with another All-American title to add to his resume. He finished 19th out of more than 250 athletes at the NCAA Division II National meet in Sacramento, California. He also earned a shiny new personal record of 30:16.9, which is a huge improvement from his recent PR of 31:24.5 from the Midwest Regional two weeks ago.

Last year at nationals, Humes finished 25th, earning his first All-American title, with a time of 33:04.4. Today, he proved to be one of the best among all Division II runners.

Humes had an outstanding senior campaign at Hillsdale, as he improved at every race this season, and finally captured the title of G-MAC Champion. He began the season with a victory at the Calvin Knight Invitational, then he went on to Notre Dame's Joe Paine Invitational where he finished second among many top Division I runners. His success continued into the G-MAC Championship race, where he earned a PR in the 8k and won the race.

At the Midwest Regional two weeks ago, he finished fourth and improved his time in the 10k by more than a minute and a half. His perfomance earned him a spot as an individual at the NCAA Division II National meet, where he competed today.

He will now carry his speed and endurance into the quickly-approaching indoor season and prepare to make another trip to the national stage.
