The Charger men's cross country team took to the rolling hills of the Hedges Boyer Park in Tiffin, Ohio Saturday, for the Tiffelberg Invitational today. It finished third with 70 points, while Heidelberg University came in first with 27 and Tiffin University was seconds with 35.

They ran much of the first half together, encouraging each other up the hills and challenging each other along the straightaways.

Freshman Isaac Waffle had a strong race and an even stronger finish as he battled to the line with a runner from Heidelberg. He beat his competitor by a half second to take sixth overall in 27:12.8.

Finally breaking onto the scene after battling injuries all last year, sophomore James McClure took 10th in 27:34.6.

Freshman Sean Hoeft made his collegiate debut as well, finishing in 13th overall in 27:49.4.

Junior Charles Holbrook put together a solid race to place 18th out of 52 runners in 28:09.1.

The final freshman to sport the Hillsdale blue for the first time was Dylan Palmer who finished in 29:33.1 to take 29th place.

The Chargers will take some time off now before they split up again to run at the Lansing Community College Invitational and the Joe Paine Invitational in the beginning of October.
