The old saying goes, if you aren't the lead dog, the view never changes. Junior men's cross country runner Joseph Humes saw the scenery change plenty Saturday afternoon.

Humes took first place overall in the Blue division race at the Greater Louisville Classic, turning in another fine performance for the Chargers. Humes won the event with a time of 24:17.8. He won the race by nearly three seconds ahead of the rest of the field.

Humes beat out 411 other runners for first-place honors in the Blue race.

As a team, Hillsdale finished fourth overall with 258 points. St. Francis (IL) took first with 146 points, while Mississippi College was second with 173 points. Southwest Baptist was third with 228.

Eli Poth put together one of his better races, taking 15h overall and second on the team with a time of 25:19.7. Mark Miller was next, taking 29th overall with a time of 25:34.8.

The Chargers will compete at home next weekend at the Hillsdale Invitational at Hayden Park.
