In a match where all but one singles flight went to three sets, the Hillsdale College men's tennis team outlasted host Ferris St. for a hard-fought 6-1 win on Saturday.

The Chargers went four of five in singles matches that went to three sets, led by impressive comebacks from Ivanhoe Lissanevitch, who rallied from a 2-6 first set loss to win 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 singles, and Brian Hackman, who bounced back from a 5-7 defeat in the first set to win 6-1, 6-4 at No. 4 singles.

Tyler Conrad won a 6-4, 2-6, 10-5 match at No. 5 singles and Julien Clouette took a 3-6, 6-2, 10-5 match at No. 6 singles for Hillsdale College, with both playing the super-tiebreak since Hillsdale had already clinched the match by the time they reached the third set.

Michael Szabo was the lone Charger to win in straight sets, downing Ferris St.'s Alec Olivier 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.

Hillsdale also captured the doubles point in the match, with Charlie Adams and Lissanevitch teaming up for a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles and Clouette and Conrad taking a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles.

The Chargers improve to 6-0 on the season and have added another quality Midwest region win to their ledger with the victory over the Bulldogs.

Hillsdale will try to keep things rolling with another regional match on Sunday, traveling to Two's Athletic Club in Toledo, OH to take on Wayne St. at noon.
