The Hillsdale College men's tennis team is finding different way to win matches. Saturday's contest against Purdue Northwest was a perfect example.
The Pride and Chargers split their six singles matches, but Hillsdale's excellence in doubles play made the difference in a 4-3 win in Indiana.
All three of Hillsdale's doubles teams won their matches, giving the team that crucial doubles point.
Charlie Adams and Ivanhoe Lissanevitch were 6-2 winners at No. 1 doubles. Michael Szabo and Brian Hackman won their match at No. 2 doubles 6-4 while Tyler Conrad and Julien Clouette won by the same score at No. 3 doubles.
Lissanevitch, the reigning G-MAC Player of the Week, rallied for a three-set victory at No. 2 singles, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. Hackman earned a 6-3, 7-6 win at No. 4 singles while Conrad rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles.
