Men's Tennis Team Sees First Competition of Fall Season

The Hillsdale College men's tennis team made its fall season debut at home over the weekend, playing in an individual tournament against regional opponents from Purdue-Northwest, Ashland and Tiffin.

Sophomore Brian Hackman won the B-draw singles consolation, losing in the main draw quarterfinals to Leon Kah from Purdue-Northwest 6-2, 6-2. Hackman's semifinal win came in marathon fashion, winning 6-3, 4-6, 11-9 over Tiffin, then topping another Dragon player 7-5, 2-6, 10-8 in the consolation finals.

The doubles team of Julien Clouette and Tyler Conrad lost in the finals of the B-draw doubles to a team from Ashland. 

Freddie Heegan won the D-draw consolation singles, picking up wins over Tiffin and Ashland to get that distinction.
