Two evenly matched men's tennis team faced off Thursday morning in Allendale, as #49 Hillsdale College suffered a 5-2 loss to Grand Valley State. The result makes the Chargers 10-6 on the season while the Lakers improved to 11-5 overall.
GVSU won the doubles point by winning two of the three matchups. However, Hillsdale's top doubles team of Charlie Adams and Justin Hyman emerged with a 6-4 win in the No. 1 flight.
Freshman Brian Hackman showed outstanding tenacity and endurance in winning a three-set marathon at No. 6 singles, by scores of 7-6, 4-6, 10-8.
John Ciraci also took home a win, coming at No. 3 singles, by a score of 6-4, 7-5.
Hillsdale is back in conference action this weekend with a key matchup against Walsh University in Ohio.
