Playing on a summer-like day at the Mary Jane Delp Courts, the Hillsdale College men's tennis team got off to a good start in its dual match schedule Tuesday afternoon.

Hillsdale earned a 5-2 victory over visiting Indiana Tech, moving to 1-0 on the season. It was the team's first home outdoor match since one year ago.

NCAA Division II tennis has new scoring rules this year, where the aggregate winner of the three doubles matches picks up one point in the team scoring total. This matches the Division I scoring format in tennis.

Adams picked up his first win of the season at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-1. Ciraci was a 6-3, 6-2 winner at No. 3 singles, while Justin Hyman rallied from a first-set loss to post a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 4 singles. Katz won in straight sets at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-4.
