Men's Tennis Team Opens Season at Hilltopper Classic

The Charger men's tennis team got going on the 2018-19 campaign over the weekend by participating at the Hilltopper Classic, hosted by West Liberty University in West Virginia.

One of the team's newcomers saw his first collegiate action, and he had a successful debut. Brian Hackman teamed up with John Ciraci to reach the finals of the "A" doubles draw. They won three rounds, a run which included a win over nationally ranked Bluefield State's combo of Luke Busse and Mohamed Belcora. Ciraci and Hackman eventually lost in the finals to another duo from Bluefield State.

Individually, Hackman won two rounds in the Ni. 6 singles flight.

Junior Julien Clouette also won two rounds, making it to the finals of the No. 5 singles flight.
