As good as the Hillsdale College men's and women's tennis teams were in 2017-18, they were just as up to the task in the classroom.

Six players - three on each team - were recipients of the ITA's All-Academic Award. The men's team award winners were Dugan Delp, Julien Clouette and Gabe Katz.

Individual winners on the women's team were Halle Hyman, Corinne Prost and Hannah Cimpeanu.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: Be a varsity letter winner; have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year; and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including freshman through senior year).

Both Charger teams also earned All-Academic honors from the ITA. Teams must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale for this recognition. The cumulative grade time period covers the Fall of 2016 through the Spring of 2017.

Both tennis teams went undefeated in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play last year and were crowned tournament champions.
