2018 Great Midwest All-Conference Men's Tennis Release

On the eve of their Great Midwest Athletic Conference tournament debut, several members of the Hillsdale College men's tennis team were bestowed with awards.

Thursday night, the G-MAC hosted its all-conference awards banquet on the campus of Kentucky Wesleyan College, where the Chargers cleaned up in more ways than one.

Head coach Keith Turner was named the 2018 G-MAC Men's Tennis Coach of the Year after leading Hillsdale to a perfect 8-0 G-MAC record during the regular season. Turner was the original hire by Hillsdale when it revived the men's tennis program prior to the 2015-16 school year. In that time, he has recruited effectively and helped improve individual player skills to the point where they turned in a dominant regular season in its first year in the G-MAC.

Sophomore Milan Mirkovic was named the 2018 G-MAC Player of the Year, a decision that surely didn't have much doubt. Mirkovic was Hillsdale's No. 1 singles player throughout the regular season and went 8-0 in G-MAC play and 11-6 overall. He enters the postseason having won seven straight matches and nine of his last 10 and already sports one of the highest singles winning percentages in program history.

Mirkovic was also named First-Team All-Conference, but he had plenty of familiar company in that group. Sophomore Charlie Adams and senior Dugan Delp were also First-Team selections, giving Hillsdale three of the eight spots on that team.

Three more Chargers earned Second-Team All-Conference honors: junior John Ciraci, junior Justin Hyman and sophomore Julien Clouette. This is Hyman's second straight all-conference recognition, while Clouette and Ciraci earned their first-career all-conference selections.

Hillsdale begins tournament play as the No. 1 seed and will face fourth-seeded Davis & Elkins at 3:30 p.m. Eastern time Friday in the G-MAC semifinal.
