Charger Golfers Finish 13th at Spring Kick-Off

Results

The Charger men's golf team made the rest of us jealous by spending the past few days in St. Augustine, Florida, playing in its first event of its spring championship season.

Hillsdale placed 13th at the 20-team Spring Kick-Off Intercollegiate, hosted by Lincoln Memorial and played at the St. Johns Golf & Country Club. Hillsdale finished with a three-round score of 934, scoring 318 in round 1, 309 in round 2 and 307 in round 3.

The team's progressive improvement helped it move up over the course of the two days of the tournament.

In round 1, two players shot 83 to raise the team's score, but by round 3, the highest score registered by any of the five Chargers was 80, showing good adjustments made by the players when playing the course a second and third time.

George Roberts and Ryan Zetwick shared the team lead with scores of 229. Roberts had the best round of any Hillsdale player at the event with a round 2 score of 72. Zetwick shot a 74-79-76 for his total score of 229.

Logan Anuszkiewicz shot better in each round, going from an 83 in round 1 to an 80 in round 2 and a 75 in round 3 to finish third on the team with a 238. He sat two shots ahead of Josh Davenport, who went 83-80-77 for a 240.
