Golfers Back in Action, Finishing 3rd at SVSU Spring Invite

Results

It's been a month since the Hillsdale College men's golf team hit the links in a competition. But the rust didn't show, as the team put on a steady performance, finishing in third place at the SVSU Spring Invite, held in Lexington, Kentucky.

The Chargers finished with a two-day score of 576, only trailing former GLIAC foes Ferris State (567) and Grand Valley State (573).

All five players finished within eight shots of each other, showing how consistently they played the course in Kentucky over the past two days.

Liam Purslowe led the way with a two-round total of 141. He shot a 69 on Saturday and followed that up with a 72 Sunday to lead the team.

One shot behind Purslowe was Ryan Zetwick, a steadily improving player who finished with a 142. He carded a 70 on Saturday and matched Purslowe's 72 on Sunday.

Josh Davenport went 71-75--146 to finish third on the team, while Logan Anuszkiewicz (148) and Sutton Dunwoodie (149) were one shot apart.

The Chargers finished ahead of G-MAC foes Trevecca Nazarene and the University of Findlay at this event.
