The Hillsdale College men's golf team got a brief respite from the severe Michigan winter, and traveled to Florida to open the spring portion of its season this week.
The Chargers finished in a tie for 10th place at the 19-team Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate, hosted by Lincoln Memorial University in St. Augustine, Florida. Hillsdale's three-round team score was 922, tied for 10th with North Greenville. Queens took first place with an 891, followed by Lincoln (892) and Carson-Newman (895).
Liam Purslowe led Hillsdale with a three-round score of 221, five-over par. His rounds were 74, 72 and 75 for the tournament.
Josh Davenport was second on the team with a 77-72-77--226, while Ryan Zetwick followed with a 232. Logan Anuszkiewicz was next with a 248, and Andrew Grayson rounded out the team's scorers with a 254.
