In its latest trip south, the Hillsdale College golf team took 12th place at the Tennessee River Rumble, held Tuesday and Wednesday. Lincoln Memorial was the host school for the two-day event.
As a team, the Chargers finished with a score of 627, shooting 310 Tuesday and 317 Wednesday. Carson-Newman was the event winner with a team score of 602. Lincoln Memorial was second with a 604 while Wingate was two shots behind in third with a 606.
Liam Purslowe was Hillsdale's top performer at the event, shooting a 148 across the two rounds. His best round was Tuesday when he shot a 71.
Three players all finished with identical scores of 159: Sutton Dunwoodie, Logan Kauffman and Joe Torres. The best round turned in by that trio was Torres, who shot a 76 on Wednesday, slicing seven strokes off his round-one score. Steve Sartore finished with a 167 for the week.
