Golf Team Places 10th at SVSU Invite in Kentucky

In its first action of the spring portion of its season, the Hillsdale College men's golf team took 10th place at the 18-team SVSU Spring Invite, hosted by Saginaw Valley State University and played at the Kearney Hill Golf Links in Lexington, Kentucky.

SVSU was the team champion at the event with a two-round score of 570. Grand Valley State took second with a 571, followed by Maryville's 573. The Chargers' two-round score was 589.

Liam Purslowe got off to a terrific start at the tournament, firing an opening-round 68 for the Chargers. He finished with a team-best score of 141 after shooting a 73 on Sunday's second day.

Andy Grayson and Joe Torres were second and third on the team with scores of 147 and 149, respectively. Torres showed nice improvement on Sunday's second round, cutting seven strokes off his first round score, shooting a 71.

Steve Sartore was fourth on the team with a 75-79--154, and Sutton Dunwoodie was one shot behind with a 155.
