The Charger men's golf team competed in one of the biggest events of its first season back on tour Sunday and Monday, competing at the Purgatory Invitational, held just outside Indianapolis.
Hillsdale finished 20th in the 31-team pool, with a team score of 611. The Chargers shot a 304 on the first day, followed by a 307 on day 2.
Joe Torres shot well both days, carding a 74 on Sunday and a 75 on Monday to finish with a two-round score of 149, best on the team.
Three players all finished with scores within six shots of one another. Senior Matt Chalberg was second on the team with a 77-75--152, followed by Logan Kaufman's 154 and Steve Sartore's 158. Brad Mitzner was fifth on the team with a 167. Nine of the 10 rounds shot by the Chargers over the two-day event were in the 70s.
