The Charger men's golf team finished in eighth place in the eight-team Al Watrous Memorial Tournament, held at the Bay City Country Club and hosted by Saginaw Valley State University this weekend.
Hillsdale compiled a team score of 626 at the two-day event. Hillsdale opened the tournament by shooting 320 on the firsy day. Sunday, the team cut 14 strokes off its score, registering a 306. On Saturday, Hillsdale finished 17 strokes behind Walsh and Findlay, who tied for sixth. But on Sunday, the Chargers improved greatly, finishing 14 strokes out of second place at the tournament.
Matt Chalberg was Hillsdale's low scorer on both days, carding a 75-73--148 to lead the team fo the second straight weekend. Steve Sartore was second on the Chargers with a 160, followed closely by Logan Kauffman (161) and Joe Torres (162). Ben Meola rounded out the team scoring with a 169.
