The Charger women's basketball team returns home this week to take on the G-MAC's southern contingent of schools, Kentucky Wesleyan Thursday and Trevecca Nazarene Saturday...The Panthers have raced out to a 16-1 start to the season and sit in second place in the conference, its only loss coming to nationally ranked Walsh...The Chargers are tied 2-2 with the Panthers in their four all-time meetings since Hillsdale joined the G-MAC in 2017-18...KWC swept last season's series, in games that were decided by 1 and 6 points...Hillsdale's last two games have been closely contested, with the team beating Tiffin by 3 last Thursday and losing by 7 to Ohio Dominican last Saturday...Both games had one-point margins in the fourth quarter...Hillsdale is also 2-2 all-time vs. Trevecca, with the Chargers winning the last meeting between these teams, 9-172, back on Feb. 28, 2019...Hillsdale is 2-0 at home vs. the Trojans and 0-2 on the road...Look for Hillsdale freshman Sydney Mills to see an increased role on the court...She's averaging 5.6 rebounds per game and has two games of 11 or more boards this season.

The Hillsdale College men's basketball team will look to bounce back from its first conference loss with a pair of home games this week...The slate starts Thursday as the Chargers take on an improving Kentucky Wesleyan squad...The Panthers have played two more games than Hillsdale, Findlay and Walsh - the three teams tied for first in the G-MAC - but have the same number of wins...The conference recently switched to a point system to determine true standings, and in that formula, Hillsdale is all alone in first place...The Chargers are 2-4 all-time vs. the Panthers, but are 2-2 since the team became conference rivals in 2017-18...Kentucky Wesleyan eliminated Hillsdale from the 2001 NCAA Division II Regional Tournament...The Panthers won the last meeting between the teams, 76-61, back on March 2, 2019...Hillsdale has won all four all-time meetings vs. Trevecca, including a 78-52 win at Hillsdale on Feb. 28, 2019...The Chargers' last three wins in the series have come by an average of 21.6 points per game...Freshman forward Patrick Cartier has become a force to be reckoned with, ranking fourth in NCAA Division II with a .680 field goal shooting percentage.
