G-MAC Men's Basketball Statistics

OVERVIEW

  • Hillsdale begins a three-game homestand this week as the G-MAC's hottest team...The Chargers have won six in a row, the longest current winning streak in the league
  • Tiffin joined the G-MAC this school year...The Dragons remained the GLIAC one year after Hillsdale, Ohio Dominican, Lake Erie, Findlay and Walsh departed for the G-MAC following the end of the 2016-17 academic year
  • The Chargers have won six straight meetings with the Dragons...Tiffin's last win over Hillsdale came on Feb. 6, 2014, a 75-70 win in Ohio
  • Thursday's game features the G-MAC's top scoring offense (Tiffin 84.9 ppg) taking on the G-MAC's top scoring defense (Hillsdale 63.3 ppg)...However, the Dragons rank 13th (last) in the conference in scoring defense (86.1 ppg)
  • Hillsdale has held six of its last seven opponents to less than 65 points, the lone exception being the team's 93-82 win at Findlay Jan. 19...Five teams have failed to crack 60 points in a game vs. the Charger defense this year
  • Cedarville comes into Saturday's game as one of the G-MAC's most improved teams...The Yellow Jackets sit in third place in the conference with a 9-3 record, one game behind Hillsdale
  • Given the Chargers' win over teh Yellow Jackets earlier in the season, a Hillsdale win would be crucial in the standings going forward...Hillsdale would own all tiebreakers with Cedarville if it wins the season series 2-0
  • Balance on offense has been one of the keys to success for the Chargers this year...No player ranks in the top 10 in the G-MAC in scoring, but four players - Dylan Lowry, Davis Larson, Harrison Niego and Austen Yarian - are averaging between 10-13 points per game
  • Hillsdale has forced 87 more turnovers than it has committed (251-164) and has 70 more assists than its opponents (250-180)
  • The Chargers play three in a row at home followed by three in a row on the road before finishing out the regular season at home Feb. 28-March 2
