A 20-4 run to open the second half doomed the Hillsdale College men's basketball team in an 88-61 loss to the University of Findlay Saturday afternoon in Ohio.

Hillsdale finished the regular season at 19-8 overall and 13-7 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. The Chargers will enter the 2018 G-MAC Men's Basketball Tournament as the #3 seed, and will face #6 seed Alderson Broaddus in a quarterfinal matchup at the University of Findlay at 2:30 p.m on Thursday, March 11

The first half of this game couldn't have started off much better for the Chargers. Hillsdale shot a blistering 63 percent from the field (17-for-27) and held the Oilers to 35 percent shooting while running out to a 40-31 lead through 20 minutes.

But those numbers reversed themselves in a second half that saw Findlay outscore Hillsdale 57-21. The Oilers shot 67 percent from the floor (22-for-33) while the Chargers made just eight of 25 field goal attempts. Findlay outrebounded Hillsdale 44-27 in the game including 12-3 on the offensive end.

Hillsdale's two seniors played well in their final regular season outings. Senior guard Stedman Lowry scored 19 of his team-high 21 points in the first half and was 9-for-16 shooting from the field. Senior Ryan Badowski had 20 points and 6 rebounds while shooting 8-for-11 from the field. But the rest of the team scored 20 points and shot 8-for-32 from the field in the loss.
