Lowry, Neveau Earn All-GLIAC Honors

2016-17 All-GLIAC Men's Basketball Release

Guards Stedman Lowry and Nate Neveau were honored as being among the GLIAC's best men's basketball players during the 2016-17 season.

Lowry, a junior, was named Second-Team All-GLIAC in a vote conducted with conference coaches. The all-GLIAC men's basketball release was published Monday afternoon.

Neveau earned his first conference honor, being named to the All-Defense Team.

In his third season as the Chargers' starting 2-guard, Lowry expanded and matured his game in 2016-17, leading the team in scoring while cementing his reputation as one of the GLIAC's best sharpshooters. He led the team in scoring in the regular season with 14.8 points per game. He has 79 made 3-point field goals on the season, fourth-most in school history, and is shooting 41.1 percent from deep. He'a achieved career-highs in field goals made, field goal percentage and 3-point field goal percentage.

Twice this season Lowry has made nine 3-point baskets in a game, one shy of the school record.

Neveau, also a starting guard, carries lots of responsibility for Hillsdale at both ends of the court. His quickness, toughness and tenacity on defense was rewarded with a spot on the All-Defense team. He's the first Charger to earn a spot on this team since current assistant coach Brandon Pritzl made it in 2013-14.

Neveau has a team-leading 39 steals while averaging 10.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. He also typically guards the opposing team's starting point guard on defense.
