Kyle Cooper Named First-Team All-GLIAC

2014-15 All-GLIAC Men's Basketball release

Hillsdale College junior forward Kyle Cooper emerged into one of the GLIAC's top players in 2014-15. As a result, he was named First-Team All-GLIAC in a vote conducted by conference coaches. The all-conference teams were announced by the GLIAC Monday afternoon.

Cooper, a 6-foot-7 forward from Northville, Michigan, averaged 20.5 points and 10.3 rebounds per game for Hillsdale this season. He finished the season ranked eighth in school history in field goals made (201) and 10th in school history in rebounds in a season (267). He also finished as the GLIAC rebounding champion, and was second in the conference in scoring average and fourth in average minutes played per game.

Cooper's scoring numbers were even more impressive considering he shot 54 percent from the field, and drained 49 3-point baskets. He was an 86-percent shooter from the free throw line while playing against defenses designed to stop him.

He opened the season with a flourish, scoring 28 points in an exhibition game against the University of Michigan Nov. 15, then poured in 41 against Cedarville University in the regular season opener Nov. 25. Cooper also scored in double figures in 25 of the team's 26 games and registered 18 double doubles on the season.
