Trey Brock Invited to Kansas City Chiefs Rookie Camp

Record-breaking Hillsdale College wide receiver Trey Brock is headed to Kansas City.

Brock was invited to attend rookie mini-camp with the Kansas City Chiefs, the team with the best record in the AFC last season. Rookie camp will take place within the date range of May 3-6 or May 10-13.

For Brock, it's at least part of a realization of a lifelong dream, to don an NFL helmet. He becomes the latest in a long line of former Charger football players to get invited to an NFL rookie camp. That list includes past standouts like Mark Nicolet, Troy Weatherhead, Joe Glendening, Drew Berube, Tom Korte, A.J. Kegg, Mark Petro and Roger Stewart.

Hillsdale's all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns, Brock had an unforgettable career from 2015-18. He's the only player in school history to be voted MVP by his teammates three straight times, and he was an AFCA First-Team All-American selection in 2018. In his career, Brock caught 256 passes for 4,401 yards and 44 touchdowns. He averaged exactly 100 receiving yards per game in his career. He has the kind of physical profile NFL teams would want in a wide receiver, standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 212 pounds at the start of his senior year.

Among Brock's strengths were an ability to catch balls in traffic and pulling away from pursuing defenders. In Hillsdale's two playoff games in 2018, he caught 16 passes for 342 yards and three touchdowns.
