Extra Points

  • This is just the second meeting between the Chargers and Storm at Hillsdale, the first coming on Sept. 25, 2010.
  • There have been an average of 76.3 points per game scored by these two teams in their three all-time meetings.
  • Lake Erie RB Anthony Bilal finished third in the voting for the Harlon Hill Trophy last year. The Harlon Hill is the Division II version of the Heisman Trophy. He rushed for 2,091 yards in 2014, averaging an incredible 8.2 yards per carry for the season. He was named the GLIAC Offensive Back of the Year in 2014.
  • In last year's 48-41 Charger win over Lake Erie, QB Mark LaPrairie tied a school record with 426 passing yards, and WR John Haley set a single-game school record with 268 receiving yards.
  • Last week, linebacker Dan Shanley became the third true freshman to start at his position for the Chargers since 2010, joining Jake Weddle (2010) and Jay Rose (2014).
  • Keith Otterbein is the dean of GLIAC head football coaches. He's entering his 14th season coaching the Chargers (his alma mater), the longest tenure of any coach with his current program. Otterbein also coached at Ferris State from 1986-94, making 2015 his 23rd season coaching in the GLIAC.
