2013 All-GLIAC Football Release
The third time was indeed the charm for Charger senior linebacker Brett Pasche.
For the third year in a row, Pasche was named First-Team All-GLIAC in a vote by conference coaches. The all-conference team was released Wednesday afternoon, and the complete release by the GLIAC office can be found in the link at the top of this release.
Senior offensive lineman Patrick Ryan and senior defensive lineman Nathan Bundy were joined on the Second-Team by junior punter Matt Eltringham. For each of these players, it was their first appearance on Second-Team All-GLIAC in their careers.
Earning honorable mention All-GLIAC accolades were: senior quarterback Sam Landry, senior linebackers Steven Embry and Devin Moynihan, redshirt-freshman placekicker Steven Mette, and junior defensive backs Tim Moinet and Daniel Pittman.
Pasche is Hillsdale's first three-time First-Team All-GLIAC football player since Tom Korte, who was also a linebacker. Pasche led the GLIAC with 121 total tackles on the season, and his 13 tackles-for-loss ranked him second in the conference. At the Chargers' banquet Sunday, Pasche was named the Roy Beck MVP, winner of the Ralph Miller III Award as the team's top linebacker and was a co-recipient of the Captain's Award, along with Landry.
Eltringham had a very consistent campaign for the Chargers, finishing third in the GLIAC with a net punting average of 38.2 yards per kick.
Ryan made the move from guard to center early in the season and performed at a high level throughout the season for Hillsdale. He took on this added responsibility and became a rock in the middle of the line. Like Pasche, Ryan was recognized by the team as the best performer at his position.
Bundy, the team's defensive lineman of the year, was a disruptive force throughout the 2013 campaign. He had four tackled for loss and 18 total tackles.
