The Charger baseball team was unable to dig out of an early 4-0 deficit Sunday, in what ended up being an 11-3 defeat to the University of Indianapolis in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Hillsdale, 1-2 on the season, will continue the early part of its schedule next weekend with a three-game series against Bellarmine in Louisville, Kentucky.

Although the Chargers had nine hits in the game, it couldn't come back after allowing two runs in each of the first two innings of Sunday's contest.

One highlight on the Hillsdale side was the first career home run for freshman shortstop Aidan Brewer. His two-run shot came in the bottom of the sixth inning, scoring Rob Zurawski. Will Smith scored Hillsdale's other run off a ground ball off the bat of Cody Kanclerz.

Zurawski, Brewer and Jeff Landis all had two-hit games for the Chargers.
