The Charger baseball team had a rough day on the diamond in Louisville, Kentucky, losing both ends of a Saturday doubleheader to Bellarmine University 12-2 and 16-6. The losses make Hillsdale 3-4 on the season.

In game one, the Knights jumped out to a 4-0 lead through two innings, then piled on six runs in the sixth to break it open. Bellarmine outhit Hillsdale 17-9 in the first game.

Jacob DePillo hit a home run and drove in both Charger runs in the opener. Dylan Lottinville was 2-for-4, while Rob Zurawski went 2-for-3 in the first game.

Game two was tied up at 6 going into the bottom of the sixth inning of a scheduled seven-inning contest. But Bellarmine blew up in that inning, scoring 10 times to create the final margin of the game.

Eight different players produced the 10 hits in the nightcap, led by two hits apiece from Jake Hoover and Kevin Monson. Hoover had a triple, drove in a run and scored a run. Steven Ring walked twice, doubled and drove in a run, and James Krick, Matt Granzotto and Dante Toppi each had doubles.
