Bio

Andrew Bacon joined the Hillsdale College Sports Medicine Staff in 2016, with primary sports in Women’s Basketball, Softball, Swim, Track and Field, and Cross Country. After four years with the Sports Medicine and Performance Department, Bacon was promoted to Head Athletic Trainer at Hillsdale College in the summer of 2020. Andrew is certified as a CPR, first aid, and AED instructor through the Red Cross. He also holds certification in performance taping techniques through Rock Tape.

Prior to coming to Hillsdale worked at Defiance College from 2013-2016, providing coverage for the football, men’s lacrosse, and swim and dive teams. He also served in the Marines from 2001-2005.  While in the Marines he was deployed to Kuwait for Operation Iraqi Freedom, was deployed to Japan, and served on a Marine Expeditionary Unit.  He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.

After serving our country, he began his career in athletic training and obtained the following degrees:
2013 – Master of Science Degree in Kinesiology, Athletic Training focus, from Michigan State University.
2011 – Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic training from the Ohio State University.
