Stephen Ferguson ‘88

A four-year starter at linebacker, Stephen Ferguson was a leader on the field for one of Hillsdale’s best series of football teams in its history. He was a key component of the 1985 national championship squad and was a three-time First-Team All-GLIAC player. His three interceptions in one game stood as a school record for more than a decade. He later returned to the program to serve as an assistant coach and team advisor from 1995-2000. He was president of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity as a student, and as a college employee, was director of corporate institutional advancement. He was also director of alumni relations before his untimely death in 2002.
