Patrick T. Riepma, ‘83

 

A four-year starter at quarterback for the Charger football team from 1979 to 1982, team co-captain his senior year, named the team’s most valuable player and a Michigan College Scholar-Athlete. Set the single-season school and GLIAC record for pass completion percentage in 1982, a record that would stand for more than 25 years. He led the Chargers to a school-record 12 wins in 1982 and a berth in the NAIA semifinals. Later went on to become head football coach and athletic director at Northwood University, leading the Timberwolves to multiple appearances in the NCAA Division II playoffs.
