Nate Clark ‘57

 

A tailback who broke barriers and shattered records for the Dales in the 1950s, Nate Clark’s name is prominent in the Hillsdale College record books more than 50 years after his graduation. He scored a then-school record 24 touchdowns during Hillsdale’s undefeated season of 1955, a record that stood for 56 years. In his three seasons in the backfield, he rushed for 2,248 yards, a career record that stood for 34 years. He led the nation in scoring in 1955, was team co-captain in 1956 and was twice named Little All-American by the Associated Press.
