Dr. Mike Lude, ‘47
Not long after graduating from Hillsdale College, he took over as the school’s baseball coach and immediately led the team to a new level of success. He guided the team to MIAA championships in 1948 and 1949, a run that included a school-record 20-game winning streak. He later went on to a very visible level of achievement in college athletics, being named athletic director at Auburn University and the University of Washington. He received an honorary doctorate degree from Hillsdale College in 1995.
