1949 Baseball Team

The 1949 Hillsdale College baseball team stands out as one of the most dominant outfits in the college’s first half of its athletic history. Coach Milio (Mike) Lude led this team to the second of back-to-back MIAA championships, as well as a 20-game regular season winning streak and guided the team to a collective batting average of .323. Seven members of this team went on to sign professional baseball contracts. The team co-captains were William (Bill) Young and Terry Thomas.
